Alica Shamblin Named HR Recruitment Manager

?Alica Shamblin has been promoted to the position of manager of recruitment. Shamblin has worked in the Human Resources office for the past year.

Prior to coming to UT, Shamblin had more than fifteen years of HR experience, the last nine as human resources manager for the Cerebral Palsy Center of Knoxville. During her time at UT, she has been responsible for both recruitment and employee relations assignments. Shamblin replaces Ashlie Czyz, who was recently promoted to director of HR services and executive recruiter for the UT System.

In her new role as manager of recruitment, Shamblin will partner with campus departments to provide guidance and resources on the hiring process. She and her staff will continue working closely with departments to recruit and retain diverse top talent and to ensure a positive onboarding experience for new hires.

Shamblin will serve as a member of the statewide team developing and implementing the faculty hiring module in Taleo, the university’s electronic application system, as well as daily monitoring of the current module in use for staff hiring. Additionally, she will be HR’s background check representative for the Minors on Campus program and serve as co-chair of the annual Picnic on the Plaza planning team, along with Dan Trentham.
