The UT Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to provide free, confidential assistance to help employees and their families resolve problems that influence their personal lives or job performance.
Who is Eligible?
The program is available to all benefits-eligible UT employees and their spouses and dependent children. In addition to the Knoxville campus contact, the state EAP provides free short-term counseling, financial counseling, and brief legal advice for regular employees scheduled to work at least 75 percent (30 hours per week) time.

As a UT employee, the Employee Assistance Program, or EAP, is part of your benefit package. Here4TN is much more than an Employee Assistance Program. Here4TN is a friendly and confidential service that provides a wide range of resources for dealing with work/life balance, family issues, finances, and more. Starting in 2017, Optum is the provider for these services.
Here4TN can provide support with whatever challenges may arise, including but not limited to:

- Family concerns
- Financial issues
- Living with chronic health conditions
- Separation and divorce
- Grief and loss
- Sleep issues
One of the benefits Here4TN provides for university employees is the opportunity to receive up to five no-cost EAP visits with a provider in our EAP network. Employees may also access services online or call the toll-free number, 855-Here4TN (855-437-3486) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to speak with a specialist.
A specialist will listen to your needs and connect you to the appropriate resources, whether it’s a counselor, mediator, clinician, lawyer, or financial advisor. All records are kept confidential in accordance with federal and state laws. Your personal records are not shared with your employer, or anyone else, without your permission.
