Our employees often reach out to Recruitment to ask what they need to do to get noticed by a UT hiring manager. First, employees need to know if they are eligible to apply. Internal employees may apply if they meet all these conditions:
- Are not in their six-month probationary period
- Have not transferred to their current role in the past six months
- Are not in an active disciplinary process
- Received a 15 or better on their most recent annual performance review
The recruitment team supports employee career development and partners with individuals to help navigate the path to their next opportunity. In addition to helping confirm transfer eligibility, recruiters are available to discuss, review, and assist with cover letters and resumes and provide other pointers for a successful job search.
Employees are encouraged to take the course Next Steps on Your UT Career Path, which is designed to prepare them for their next career step at the University of Tennessee. The class includes information on how to prepare cover letters and resumes as well as advice on networking. This class also offers interviewing tips. The next course is scheduled for November 15 and from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
