The Families First Coronavirus Response Act requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.
These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
Given the majority of our UT workforce is working under telecommuting or alternative work schedules or providing essential services to campus and institutes without a negative impact to pay, these provisions will not likely apply to the majority of the UT faculty and staff currently. These provisions will probably become more relevant once we return to our regular/normal in office work arrangement.
