UT Knoxville Career Gateway: Find Your Way Into UT

What is the Career Gateway?
Also known as the Temporary Help Pool, UT Knoxville has a hidden gem in the Career Gateway. The Career Gateway is a pool of both candidates and open opportunities at the University that can be matched together.

Opportunities vary in requirements, duration, and nature. Some example opportunities are support for a team member who is on medical leave or positions that have been vacated unexpectedly but are critical to daily operations and need immediate coverage.

Typically, candidates for the Career Gateway have submitted their application, consented to a background check, and are ready to ‘go to work’ if an opportunity becomes available that is a good match.

Benefits of joining our Career Gateway
May different professionals can find a home in the Career Gateway, because we offer a variety of positions and opportunities. Opportunities that need coverage range from a few weeks to months, but they can also turn into permanent career roles. These opportunities are very beneficial to learn systems of the University, develop professional skills, gain experience in the Higher Education environment, and provide the chance to experience the different colleges and departments across campus.

In instances where a position is vacated unexpectedly, these roles may be to identify a permanent replacement. Members of the Career Gateway who may be currently serving in a temporary role are always encouraged to apply for the permanent position if they feel it is a good match for them.
