Temporary Employment Opportunities at UT
UT Knoxville offers a variety of opportunities for different professionals and job seekers to find a home. Throughout each year UTK has open opportunities that need coverage ranging from a few weeks to months; these opportunities can also turn into permanent career roles. Temporary roles are very beneficial to learn systems of the University, develop professional skills, gain experience in the higher education environment, and provide the chance to experience the different colleges and departments across campus.
In instances where a position is vacated unexpectedly, temporary roles may be used for immediate support, as well as to identify a permanent replacement. Employees currently serving in temporary roles are always encouraged to apply for the permanent position.
Discover available temporary positions on the UT Jobs Board and search “temporary” and indicate the Workplace, Job Category, and additional job search options. Click Apply Now, follow the prompts, and upload a resume if you haven’t created an account yet. After applying, a UTK HR recruiter will contact you within four days.
