Employee Relations Advisory Organization

The Employee Relations Advisory Organization (ERAO) was established in 1972 to provide a direct channel of communication between regular, non-exempt staff employees, and university officials for information and advisory purposes. The Employee Relations Committees (ERC) represent non-exempt staff. In 2004, the Exempt Staff Council joined the ERAO.

The ERAO provides university officials with an effective method of soliciting and disseminating information concerning plans and programs affecting employees. Each group meets monthly with administrative leaders for standing updates, announcements, and a forum for constituent questions.

ERAO representatives and alternates strive to promote a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment for all Knoxville-area employees.

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville ERAO is divided into three groups:

Each group also elects a representative to the Employee Relations Advisory Board, which meets quarterly with the UT System President and System administrative staff.
